​Textile Cartographies’ exhibitions are work in progress, the gifts sent by the groups are displayed with the squares made by participants in the host group. The exhibition space is also an invitation to cooperate and enter in the collective story, a corner with fabric, threats and needles is available so visitors can leave their story in the exhibition or send it later to the curator. Textile cartographies participants travel with the squares, there are proud and feel dignified when their textile stories are shown in the different exhibitions’ places, in distant countries. In this way, the exhibitions promote participants self-esteem and a sense of belonging to a large collective of people interested in a more sustainable future.
