Organising this exhibition is a deep act of freedom because it is based on the assumption that we all have this power to create something that touches the Other. And if we all have this power to create something that touches the Other, it doesn't matter how old we are. Active ageing cannot just mean being and keeping busy. It can and, above all, must mean that we are present in each Other's lives. I look at this group of women and one man as the Future. They are the Future because they carry with them this desire to mean something, because they have a Life to tell, because they have the availability to be present in the Life of the Other, transforming it. First Exhibition
It is with great pleasure that I here announce that our local exhibition is going "on air" from next Friday, the 26th of January, till Sunday the 4th of February.
It's been a joy to be with this group made up of elderly women, mostly over 70 years old, to see them grow, expand, walk thought this project.
They are a force of nature!
I'm in this as a volunteer, and my work is mainly with children (babies included), and I must tell you something: if children are the future, the elderly are the present, the past, the future, all-in-one! So, let's please cherish them, love them, honour them and... listen to them, take time to be with them, because they hold down the secrets of life!
