VAINICA. UNDOING AND MAKING. It is a project of textile co-creation, sustainability and memory.
Our proposal is to establish spaces of union, conversation and creation in which to share the stories and memories of one's own materials in order to construct new ones. This can happen when several people get together to weave and talk about their materials, which have a symbolic charge. Or we start a dialogue when they individually send us a piece and when they receive it and their reflections meet ours. The continuation of these dialogues will be reflected in the exhibition and the different creations with the results of the different processes that we receive at the end of the call. - To participate**: 1. Get or build a small loom (the structure where you can weave). 2. Rescue textile pieces with symbolic value. 3. Undo or cut each garment to generate strips of fabric as threads. 4. With different fragments, weave a textile piece of 10 x 10 cm. 5. Record the process and/or any reflections that arise and send them to the drive*. 6. Send the piece(s) to the following addresses: - Sending textile works to: Textile Cartographies Granada. Natalia Luc Rojas. P.O. Box 67 CP18009. Granada. Spain. - Send audiovisual/sound recordings of the process of creation of the works to the following link*: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1A2b4tHi5y7eLfCEifA5TPFCzYUq-spjz?usp=sharing **The proposal is to work collectively, but if you want to participate individually, you can collectivise with us by sharing the pieces, the materials and the processes. New Deadline: 31 August 2024 NOTE: Vainica. Undoing and Making is a project of CARTOGRAFÍAS TEXTILES GRANADA, which is part of the International CARTOGRAFÍAS TEXTILES Project (https://textilecartographies.weebly.com/).
